Be part of the holiday magic
Market Policies & Agreement
Welcome to the hive. This agreement covers how the Winter Village at Downtown Daybreak works, what we provide, and what we ask of you. Please read it fully before applying — submitting an application and paying your booth fees means you accept these terms. We've kept it plain-spoken on purpose. If anything's unclear, ask us before you commit.

Vendor Qualifications & Promise
At Salt & Honey Market, we believe in empowering creative people to do what they do best—create. Our mission is to support passionate makers and inspired professionals in bringing their ideas to life and
building thriving small businesses.
To nurture this creative economy, we carefully curate our markets to mostly highlight and feature products that are original, handmade, unique, vintage, repurposed, or locally designed and produced.
By agreeing to our vendor terms below, you’re confirming that everything you sell aligns with the vision of our terms and conditions.
Our markets are juried to maintain a high standard, and we’re always on the lookout for the best and brightest creatives to join us.
We hope that includes you!
*IMPORTANT*
this is a self-staffed market
Unlike the Salt & Honey shop and our central-checkout markets, the Winter Village is vendor-run.
You staff your own booth, run your own sales and payment, collect and remit your own sales tax, and report your nightly revenue to us. Although a big commitment, we are creating a lasting Utah holiday tradition and your dedication to your craft is what will make this market magical.
We build and run the village so you can run your business and holiday magic that comes with it.

Deadlines
Booth fees for all booked weeks are due in full by October 15, 2026. Payment reserves your space for the season.
A space is not held until fees are paid. Unpaid reservations may be released after October 15 to waitlist vendors.
Fees are non-refundable except as described in Cancellation.
Applying is not a guarantee of a space. We curate the vendor mix; you'll receive an acceptance and an invoice before any fees are due.
Sales
You run your own sales. Salt & Honey does not ring up or collect your sales at this market. You provide and operate your own point-of-sale and payment method, and report your revenue to us each night.
POS System must be used. Shopify, Square, or other electronic means of sales tracking must be used to document sales.
Nightly reporting: each night you operate, you report your day's gross sales to Salt & Honey to the night manager by viewing your POS sales report on your device and/or Paypal/Venmo. Reporting is required whether or not you made a sale.
Accuracy: reported figures must reflect your actual gross sales. Salt & Honey may request supporting POS summaries.
You keep your sales in real time; the 10% commission is reconciled separately.
Commission
A 10% commission applies to your gross sales for each week you operate.
Weekly settlement: at the end of each market week, Salt & Honey totals your reported nightly revenue and invoices you for 10% of it. This is settled weekly, not at the end of the season.
Payment terms: commission invoices are due within the timeframe stated on the invoice. Payment must be received within 5 business days via ACH Transfer (no fee), Venmo (no fee) or Credit Card (Shopify with 3% processing fee added).
Note: commission is calculated on gross sales before sales tax.
Sales Tax
- Utah requires vendors at temporary events to collect and remit sales tax under a Special Event Sales Tax registration.
You are responsible for collecting the correct Utah sales tax on your sales and remitting it to the Utah State Tax Commission. - Salt & Honey will provide the event information and registration details you need before opening.
- Sales tax is your obligation, not Salt & Honey's, and is separate from booth fees and commission.
- Note: this market does not require vendors to carry liability insurance or submit a certificate of insurance. If that changes, we'll notify you in writing.
- If accepted, you will be required to submit a waiver of liability provided for you
Staffing
- Staff your own booth: you (or your team) must be present and operating your space during all published hours for every day of every week you've booked. Hours vary by date (see Dates & Hours); the busiest weeks run 10:00am–10:00pm.
- Setup & display: your booth should be fully set, stocked, and holiday-dressed before opening each day and be fully ready 15 minutes before opening. Presentation matters— this is a curated village.
- Booths stay set through the week; carts and booths will be secured nightly. Overnight items are left at your own risk. Downtown Daybreak provides overnight security
- Load-in / load-out: times and logistics will be provided before the season. Follow all site and Downtown Daybreak access rules. S&H staff will be on hand for assistance. A limited number of loading carts will be available for use.
- Adequate stock: carry enough inventory for the weeks you book. Holiday traffic is heavy.
- Unattended or abandoned booths during open hours may forfeit their space without refund.
Products
- Sell what you applied with: only the products and categories approved in your application. Adding materially different lines needs our okay.
- Handmade, designed, grown, or small-batch: goods should be made or meaningfully produced by you. Mass-produced resale can be approved but we will prioritize handmade first.
- Food vendors must hold all required health permits and follow applicable food-handling and South Jordan / Utah regulations. It is up to you to manage your permit as we will be inspected. We will ask you to upload your permit by Nov 10, so that we know you are in compliance.
- Curatorial discretion: Salt & Honey curates for balance and quality and may decline or limit products that don't fit the market.
Booth Design
- Vendors will have complete control over the design and production of the interior of their booth.
- Vendors will be given some ability to utilize the doors or outside walls of their booth for merchandising and it will be stated exactly which areas they can merchandise in their acceptance email.
- All vendors are expected and required to create a festive and inviting holiday atmosphere in and around their booth.
- Vendors applications that explicitly state design direction and examples of their winter village aesthetic that matches our vision will be prioritized.
- Vendors who do not create this atmosphere may be automatically disqualified from participating in future productions.
- Vendors will have track lighting and heating supplied in their booth as well as (2-4) two-four power outlets.
- Power and heating is supplied by the Downtown Daybreak.
Conduct & Community
- Be a good neighbor: treat fellow makers, staff, Downtown Daybreak partners, and guests with respect.
- Represent the market well: no disparagement of other vendors, harassment, or behavior that disrupts the village.
- Follow site rules: comply with all Downtown Daybreak, venue, and safety instructions from Salt & Honey or event staff.
Marketing & Likeness
- Shared promotion: Salt & Honey and Downtown Daybreak promote the market through social, email, PR, and the Holiday Lights co-marketing. Your business may be listed in the vendor directory and featured in promotion.
- Permission to feature: you grant Salt & Honey and Downtown Daybreak permission to use your business name, images, and product photos to promote the market, unless you tell us otherwise in writing.
- Your own promotion: we love when you spread the word — please tag and credit the market and our partners.
Parking
- You will receive parking instructions with your acceptance email. Vendors will have their own secure parking area with 2 parking stalls.
- All vendors will receive 2 parking passes for the duration of their week.
Restocking
You are welcome to restock your inventory at any time during market hours.
- Please use approved walkways and do not block fire lanes or park in roadways.
Storage
Storage will be limited to your booth. In some cases the areas behind your booth will be available for additional out of sight storage. Those with available storage behind their booth (subject to the elements) will be notified.
Cancellation & Weather
- Vendor cancellation: booth fees are non-refundable after October 15. Cancellations before then may be refundable less any processing costs, at our discretion.
- Weather: this is a largely outdoor market. It operates in typical winter conditions; dress and prepare your booth accordingly. Individual nights are not refunded for ordinary weather.
- Heating: Each booth will be equipped with heat and basic electricity (2-4 outlets).
- Closures beyond our control: if the market or a portion of it is canceled due to severe weather, safety, venue issues, or events beyond our control (force majeure), Salt & Honey is not liable for lost sales, and refunds — if any — are at our discretion.
Theft & Liability
- Your risk: you are responsible for your booth, products, equipment, cash, and belongings. Salt & Honey and Downtown Daybreak are not liable for theft, loss, or damage.
- Booth Lock & Liability: You are responsible for providing a personal lock for your booth for overnight security. Salt & Honey Market and Larry H Miller Group are not responsible for any damage to property or products.
- Hold harmless: you agree to hold Salt & Honey Market, Downtown Daybreak, the Larry H. Miller Group, and their staff and partners harmless from claims arising out of your participation, products, or conduct.
- Security: Larry H. Miller Group and Downtown Daybreak have an overnight security service to oversee the market.
Removal
Salt & Honey may remove a vendor, without refund, for: non-payment; failing to staff a booked space; misrepresenting sales; selling unapproved or prohibited products; unsafe, dishonest, or disruptive conduct; or violating this agreement or site rules.
